England and Manchester United player, Marcus Rashford has won ‘Player of the Month’ award for February 2023. With this, he has leveled the record of winning the said award most times in a season. The Manchester United forward won the award for the first time in the ongoing season in September last year. In the months of January and February this year, Rashford won the award for the second and third time respectively.

The England international leveled the record of winning consecutive POTM awards alongside the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Mohamed Salah. The former did it in early 2021. On the other hand, Salah did it in the 2017-18 season. Meanwhile, after winning the award, Rashford took to Twitter to announce his elation.

“Over the moon to have won MU & PL Player Of The Month again,” Rashford wrote on Twitter.

“I couldn’t have done it without the rest of the boys and the staff. Setbacks will happen but as long as we stay focused and stay together we will always see the light at the end of the tunnel!”

Rashford won this award after scoring four goals in five games last month. He netted in wins over Crystal Palace, Leicester and Leeds, and also found the back of the net in a draw in the last game for his side last month. The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Bernd Leno, Emerson Royal, Manor Solomon, and Ollie Watkins were all nominated for the award, but voters – made up of fans and an expert panel – chose to hand the trophy back to Rashford.
