Mexican Star Wrestler Dragon Lee makes in-ring debut for WWE NXT Live

Mexican superstar wrestler Dragon Lee has finally made his appearance on World Wrestling Entertainment during NXT live event at St. Petersburg. Lee himself made the announcement that he had signed with WWE on December 28 during AAA’s Noche de Campeones event. The following night, Lee and his brother Dralistico defeated FTR to capture the AAA Tag Team Championships before announcing to the crowd that he had signed with WWE.

Tonight’s NXT live event from St. Petersburg saw Lee wrestle Eddy Thorpe. Although the winner of the fight has not yet been announced, full results from St. Petersburg are anticipated soon. Thorpe made his debut on a recent NXT Level Up broadcast, facing off against Dante Chen, after signing a contract with WWE in January.

Thorpe subsequently lost to Axiom in the live event on February 24 in Jacksonville, but he triumphed over Oro Mensah on the NXT Level Up episode of March 3. Thorpe is scheduled to compete against Xyon Quinn on next week’s episode of Level Up, indicating that WWE is impressed with him and is using him to launch a rookie.

Dragon Lee has wrestled for various platforms

Lee has been phenomenal throughout his career as the 27-year-old wrestler has played for various platforms. The likes of CMLL, AAA, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Ring of Honor have all employed Lee as a wrestler. Together with his brother Rush and Andrade El Idolo, he participated in AEW’s Trios Championship event last year. Yet after their argument, Rush and Idolo turned against him.

According to reports, WWE had aimed to introduce Dragon Lee in early January, but visa complications made it impossible. After resolving those difficulties, Lee made an appearance at NXT Roadblock on Tuesday. He was featured in the audience, just like the company had done with other debuting wrestlers at TakeOver events over the years.

After the release of Mandy Rose, Dragon Lee is reputedly the highest-paid superstar on the NXT roster. Visa complications prevented the former AAA Tag Team Champion from making his debut sooner than expected.
