ODI World Cup 2023
‘Eng Jeet jayega kya’ – Fans react as Australia’s ODI World Cup 2023 show hit another hurdle as Mitchell Marsh gets ruled out of England clash
The Australia cricket team is all set to lock horns against England on November 4 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad for their seventh game of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, Pat Cummins and Co. got a narrow 5-run win against New Zealand in their recent clash of the ongoing event, and they will be looking to beat England in their next clash to qualify for the semi-final spot for the marquee event.
Talking about their campaign, the five-time world champions Australia have had an awful start as they suffered a crushing defeat against host India in their opening game while a strong South African side beat them in their second game of the ODI World Cup 2023. However, despite that, they didn’t look back as they defeated Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand, and the Netherlands, which has placed them in the third spot in the points table.
However, according to reports, Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out in their next clash against England owing to some personal reasons. Cricket Australia confirmed that the 31-year-old cricketer had gone back to his country due to a personal emergency. However, the top-order batsman will return to the host country, India, soon for the playoffs.
Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned home: Reports
“Australian allrounder Mitchell Marsh has returned home from the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 late last night for personal reasons. A timeline on his return to the squad is to be confirmed. No further detail will be offered at this time,” Cricket Australia confirmed in a statement.
However, Pat Cummins and Co.’s win over the defending champions will boost their chances of reaching the semi-finals of the marquee ever. On the other hand, the win looks possible, and the Jos Buttler-led England side has been going through poor performances, which places them at the bottom of the table. Meanwhile, both sides last faced each other in Ashes 2023, where the series was levelled at 2-2.

So Maxwell was already out due to concussion and now Marsh is out!
All that England needs now is to get the wicket of Warner and Head to stand a chance against their arch rivals! 😂
