Mohammed Shami likely to miss out the entire India vs England Test series

In the ongoing five-match series between India and England is leading the series by 1-0. In the first test match, India started strongly in the first innings three batsmen went to score 80s but were out while hitting six. In the first innings, India bowled out England for a score of 246 runs. In second innings England took a lead of 231 runs with the help of Ollie Pope’s 196 runs.

In India’s second innings, wickets started to fall off early. As a debutant, Tom Hartley took seven wickets. India was bowled out for just 202 runs as England won the first Test match in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium by 28 runs.

For the second Test match against England Indian team faces a big setback as all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul are not available due to injuries. Ravindra Jadeja pulled his hamstring in the first Test match which caused him to get run-out. KL Rahul complained about pain in his right quadriceps. Their replacement has been announced by the Indian Cricket Board. Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar and Sourabh Kumar are their replacement.

Another major setback for India

Ahead of the second Test match, there is more bad news for the Indian team as Mohammed Shami is doubtful for the rest of the series against England as per reports. Before getting ankle injury Mohammed Shami last played for India in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Mohammed Shami is still under treatment for his ankle injury in London. According to the reports he is taking injections to get better in condition. Yet he is not ready to play a Test match. Moreover, he is likely to return before IPL 2024.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah has got back from a stress fracture which he had in last year August. Since then, Bumrah has played an important role in ODIs and Test cricket for India. In the first match, Jasprit Bumrah took six wickets against England.
