Despite having 8.5 million followers on Twitter, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni is hardly active on the platform, or on any other social media platform.

But, a couple of Dhoni’s older tweets, which sometimes appear, have once again grabbed Twitter by storm. On one particularly memorable occasion, Ravindra Jadeja’s 10-year-old comment about him went viral on Twitter after the all-rounder took a caught and bowled miracle against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in the IPL 2023 match.

Jadeja came into ball in the 11th over which was his second of the spell. Cameron Green of the Mumbai Indians batted and launched a tracer bullet directly at the bowler. Instead of going after a catch, Jadeja focused on being safe. Chris Gaffaney, the field umpire, had already stooped to take safety at that point. Jadeja had his eyes closed at the time of what would out to be a stunning effort, but the ball somehow simply stuck into his hands.

A 10-year-old post of Dhoni’s went viral on Twitter, immediately, after the crucial catch, which sent back the MI all-rounder for 12 runs from 11 balls and brought the five-time champions to 76 for 4. The tweet was posted back in April 2013 with the caption: “Sir jadeja doesn’t run to take the catch but the ball finds him and lands on his hand.”

Here is the tweet:

With fast bowler Deepak Chahar leaving the pitch with a hamstring injury after only one over, CSK got off to a terrible start. Even though Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan had a wild powerplay, the Dhoni-led team recovered in impressive fashion.

Tushar Deshpande began the proceedings of taking the wickets in the fourth over, and MI lost wickets at regular intervals after that, including a collapse in the middle order. Tilak Varma was the second victim of Jadeja’s three wickets, while Mitchell Santner picked Arshad Khan and Suryakumar Yadav as his two scalps.
