‘I hope he does come back…’ – Former English skipper hopeful of Virat Kohli’s return in rest 3 Test matches

Former England cricketer Nasser Hussain is hopeful of returning India’s batting master Virat Kohli in the remaining Test series. Notably, England won the first Test match by a narrow margin of 28 runs. However, Rohit Sharma and Co. bounced back magnificently to help India win the second Test match, which helped them level up the series by 1-1.

However, the former batting legend wants India’s star Virat Kohli to be in the rest of the three Tests against England. The 35-year-old cricketer opted for a break from the first two Tests, citing personal reasons; however, there has been no update on his return so far. In addition, the well-renowned cricket commentator is looking forward to witnessing the battle between Virat Kohli and James Anderson in the ongoing Test match.

“I hope he does come back because the only thing this series has been missing is the battle between Kohli and Jimmy Anderson. I’m looking forward to that. The one thing about India is that in three of their four innings they have been a bit sloppy. I know Rahul Dravid and he would have been ticking inside at some of the dismissals so far. India will think, ‘We keep on giving England a sniff here, let’s be more ruthless’. And the one thing Kohli is, is absolutely ruthless,” Nasser Hussain said.

Nasser Hussain also talks about England star batter Jonny Bairstow’s poor form in the Test format. Moreover, the 55-year-old cricketer feels that star cricketer Harry Brook may replace him in the Test squad, so he needs to show his form to be in the squad for his side.

“Bairstow’s an excellent player and just needs to convert one of his starts. It wasn’t just him. All of the England batters got in and got out again in Vizag. Jonny will know if Brook does go to India he will need to be clinical and get a big score,” he added further.
