WATCH: Naveen-ul-Haq receives magnificent cheer from fans during ODI World Cup 2023 Afghanistan vs England clash

The Afghanistan team defeated defending champions England on October 15 at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. However, a wonderful moment took place for the fans during the game. Cricket fans were seen cheering on LSG star cricketer Naveen-ul-Haq when he got the wicket of England captain Jos Buttler in the play. Notably, this was a great gesture by Indian fans, as they were mostly spotted trolling the star pacer owing to his huge fight with India’s stalwart Virat Kohli in the IPL 2023.

Moreover, Indian fans chanted ‘Kohli Kohli’ during Afghanistan’s first match against Bangladesh when the young cricketer was near the boundary line. However, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq sorted out their fight and seem to have become new friends, which united fans across both nations. Following the same incident, cricket fans were seen cheering on the right-arm pacer in their clash against England on October 15.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan team captain Hashmatullah Shahidi expressed his happiness over their emphatic victory over the tough English set-up. The top-order batsman called this win the best one, which can give them great confidence in the upcoming games. In addition, the left-handed batsman heaps praise on their openers for giving them a great start but accepts that their middle order falters.

This is the best win for Afghanistan: Hashmatullah Shahidi

I’m quite happy, all the teammates are happy. This is the best win for us, the confidence will be there for the next game and I’m very proud. The openers get a lot of credit. They gave us a great start but unfortunately, we lost back-to-back wickets in the middle again, a lot of credit to the openers though, especially Gurbaz,” Hashmatullah Shahidi said.

Ikram was with us for the last 2 years and didn’t get a lot of chances, today I believed in him and gave him a chance and he repaid my faith. Mujeeb batted brilliantly, he led from the front and scored important runs for us. We have a lot of confidence about our spinners,” he added further.
