Group Stage Quarterfinals for IEM Katowice which started on February 3 with some of the best teams clashing. However, two veteran teams NaVi and Team Vitality faced defeat and have now moved to the lower brackets.

NaVi Vs Team Spirit

NaVi faced Team Spirit in Group A and saw a 1-2 defeat in a best-of-three match. The matches saw NaVi struggling against Team Spirit in all the map picks.

The first match was played on Ancient, where Team Spirit took the victory with an easy 13-7 score over NaVi. The second match was on Anubis, where one can say both teams saw a close match. However, NaVi managed to stay safe to play the decider map.

The Final map in the best-of-three was good old Mirage. This time, Team Spirit had an even easier time and gave no comeback chance to NaVi. The match ended with a 4-13 loss for NaVi.

Team Vitality Vs ENCE

A similar fate also awaited Team Vitality, our champions of the last CS: GO Major. Their match with ENCE also resulted in a disastrous 1-2 loss, sending them to the shadow realm.

The first match on Vertigo was secured by ENCE quite easily with a 13-6 scoreline. Despite Team Vitality being arguably strong on Vertigo. The second match on Anubis saw a comeback from Team Vitality with a dominating 13-4 victory.

The final match saw Team Vitality putting up a fight. However, they did not manage to make a comeback, resulting in a 13-8 loss, sending them to the lower bracket.

One more chance for both teams

After losing their upper bracket match, both teams will now compete in the lower brackets of their group. Any further loss will result in elimination and with that, any hope to qualify for the playoffs.
