‘Nets me hi khelta rah jayega’ – Fans react as Ben Stokes was seen practicing in nets ahead of CSK’ clash with DCB

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ben Stokes was seen practising in the nets ahead of CSK’s clash with Delhi Capitals in match number 55 of IPL 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on May 10th. Stokes has been out of action for a while due to an injury and now fans are hoping to see him play against DC as he started sweating in the nets.

Stokes was bought by CSK for INR 16.25 crore in the 2023 auction, but he only played the first two matches against Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, respectively. After that, he went on to miss the rest of the matches due to a toe injury. However, he didn’t have a great outing in the two matches he played as he scored only 15 runs and bowled just one over in both matches where he conceded 18 runs.

Talking about CSK’s performance in IPL 2023, the four-time champions currently stand in second position in the points table by winning six of the 11 matches played so far in the season. Unlike their disastrous season in 2022, CSK had a great outing in the ongoing and will be looking forward to taking their campaign ahead with a win against DC in the next game.

Stokes and Buttler were invited to attend the ECB Board meeting

England Test captain Ben Stokes and the white ball skipper Jos Buttler have been invited to sit on the board meetings organised by Richard Thompson, the new chair of the England & Wales Cricket Board. The main aim of the meeting would be to increase cricket knowledge at the top of the game.

Along with Stokes and Buttler, England Women’s team captain Heather Knight will also be seen attending the meeting. All three cricketers have sat in at least one board meeting by ECB so far as observers and now have been openly invited to attend further meetings in the future.

Recently, ECB has extended its invitation to Stokes and Buttler as they both are lending their services in the ongoing IPL season. Stokes is a part of the CSK camp, while Jos Buttler is a crucial player for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023.
