‘Never ever doubt Surya the T20 batter’ – Fans applaud Suryakumar Yadav’s blistering ton vs South Africa

Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav on Thursday went joint top with Rohit Sharma to score the most 100’s in T20I cricket. The 33-yeae-old scored his 4th century for the Indian team in this format of the game.

It was a key game for India after their 5-wicket loss during the 2nd game in Gqeberha on Tuesday. The three-match series was reduced just to a two-match affair after the first game in Durban was rained out.

Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bowl first yet again and made three changes to his side. Keshav Maharaj was back along with Donovan Ferreira as Nandre Burger was making his T20I debut. The Indian side went in with the same team for the previous game.

A superlative century from Suryakumar Yadav

India scored a massive 201 runs on the board thanks to a 55-ball century by Suryakumar Yadav. The 33-year-old has now hit four centuries for India in the T20I format to go joint top with Rohit Sharma.

A massive crowd had come to witness the final game of the series between the two and weren’t left disappointed. Suryakumar Yadav hit seven fours and 8 sixes during his knock to keep the crowd entertained.

Yashasvi Jaiswal continued to impress with the bat as the youngster scored yet another fifty in the T20I format. The left-handed batter scored 62 runs from 41 balls before falling to Tabraiz Shamsi caught by Reeza Hendricks while going for a huge hit.

Shubman Gill failed to score big once again as he was out for 12 falling LBW to Keshav Maharaj. Tilak Varma was out a first ball duck when he mistimed a shot only to see Aiden Markram take an easy catch. Rinku Singh came in and struck a six during 14 14-run knock before falling to Nandre Burger.

Keshav Maharaj was the pick of the bowlers when he picked 2/26 from his four overs. Lizaad Williams ended the day with figures of 2/46 from his four overs. Nandre Burger and Tabraiz Shamsi meanwhile picked a wicket each. The terrific performance by SKY had the fans upbeat as they took to Twitter to voice their views.
