‘No experiment drama till WC please’ – Fans react as Rohit Sharma reveals their experimentation with batters will continue during Asia Cup

The Men in Blue have been gearing up for the ODI World Cup but are still facing issues as they are unable to find a suitable batter for the fourth spot. Notably, KL Rahul, who was injured during the IPL match against RCB, has not made his comeback yet, whereas Shreyas Iyer, who was injured during the fourth Test match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year, has not returned to the line-up. In addition, both top-class batsmen have missed the IPL 2023, the World Test Championship final, the ongoing series against West Indies, and will miss the upcoming Ireland tour.

Notably, the Rohit Sharma side has to find a suitable batter for the fourth spot in the upcoming mega contest. Speaking on the same subject, India skipper Rohit Sharma reveals that their experimentation with batters will continue during the Asia Cup also after the recently concluded ODI series against the West Indies.

“We have got a lot of names there. We will see what is the right combination for us to go in the World Cup but before [that] we have the Asia Cup,” Rohit Sharma said.

Moreover, the opening batter affirms that they want to win the upcoming Asia Cup, but at the same time, the skipper wants to test some performances under pressure against a quality team. Furthermore, the stylish right-handed batter wishes the injured players to get fit ahead of the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.

“We want to win but at the same time there are a lot of questions that we need answers of. But in the Asia Cup, I want to see some of the guys batting under pressure against quality teams. I still want to see those things, so we will wait and see what happens, but it is always nice to have a lot of names, rather than just one or two names. I hope they are fit in time – firstly that is the most important,” he added further.
