‘Overconfidence and Arrogance hai ye’ – Fans react as Riyan Parag lashes out after being mocked on social media for his game style
Rajasthan Royals batter Riyan Parag produced a stellar performance in the recently concluded Deodhar Trophy. Notably, the right-handed batter finished up being the tournament’s highest run-scorer, as he accumulated 354 runs in 5 innings with a solid strike rate of 136.88. In addition, the 21-year-old batter struck two centuries and one half-century. Meanwhile, the young batter had a disappointing IPL 2023 edition as he was only able to manage 78 runs from 7 innings, but his recent performance grabbed his attention.
Meanwhile, Parag receives savage mocking on social media, especially for his on-field actions rather than his off-field comments. In addition, a plethora of fans are trolling him as the Assam-born cricketer failed to justify himself in the recently concluded IPL after being purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for a hefty amount.
Meanwhile, the top-order batter says that people have problems with him if he eats chewing gum, celebrates after taking a catch, or just plays golf in his spare time.
“People have a problem with me chewing gum. If my collar is up that’s a problem. I celebrate after taking a catch that’s a problem. They have a problem with me gaming and playing golf in my off time,” Riyan Parag said on The Indian Express.
I am completely the opposite: Riyan Parag
Moreover, the right-handed batter further added that he does not fit in the rulebook of cricket as his t-shirt should be tucked in, his collar should be down, and there should be no sledding as well. Furthermore, the great batter admitted that he is just the opposite of rulebooks.
“I have an idea why people hate me. There is a rulebook about how you should play cricket. The T-shirt should be tucked in, the collar should be down, give respect to everyone, don’t sledge anyone, and I am completely the opposite,” he added further.

People don't hate you, they hate you being in the team….because of consistency in non-performance. 5-6 players ko chhod kar no one's invested more in players than the team itself. Baaki everyone dislikes antics and big talk when it isn't backed by skills and performance!
