TThe Nepal court found Sandeep Lamichhane guilty on Friday of raping a juvenile. After a protracted and frequently postponed trial, he was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl. Earlier however, he was permitted to carry on with his athletic career.

The property and bank account of Lamichhane were frozen following the filing of the charge sheet.
