ODI World Cup 2023: Pakistani journalists get Indian visas to cover high octane IND-PAK battle in Ahmedabad
Team India and Pakistan will be locking horns for their third game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 14 at the iconic Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahemdabad. Notably, the Men in Green had won their first two games against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in the marquee event, while Team India had won their first clash against Australia on October 8.
However, Pakistani journalists received Indian visas to cover the match on October 14. According to sources, around 60 journalists from Pakistan will be travelling to India to cover the high-octane battle. Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Zaka Ashraf also confirmed that he had also received the visa and will be travelling to the host nation along with the journalists on October 12 to watch the clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. In addition, the 71-year-old expressed his happiness about getting an Indian visa to watch the match from the world’s largest cricketing ground.
“I have delayed my travel to India, and travelling tomorrow after receiving confirmation that Pakistan’s journalists have been asked to submit their passports to obtain visas to cover the mega-event. I am happy that my conversation with the foreign office helped in achieving a positive development regarding the visa delay,” Zaka Ashraf said in a press release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
