‘What a legend’ – Fans react as Pat Cummins bags third consecutive 5-wicket haul as Pakistan crumble for 313 in Sydney

Australia’s skipper Pat Cummins consecutively took a third 5-wicket haul in the third Test game against Pakistan at Sydney Cricket Ground on January 3. Notably, the hosts have already sealed the series after winning the first and second Test games in Perth and Melbourne, respectively. In addition, Pat Cummins had dismissed Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammed Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Hasan Ali.

However, the right-arm pacer took a 5-wicket haul in the first and second innings of the second Test game in Melbourne. Speaking about the game here, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood won the toss and invited the hosts to field first. However, after being opted to bat first, the side had an awful start to the game as they kept losing wickets on a regular basis.

However, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha piled up 83 and 53 runs, respectively, which helped boost their middle order. Meanwhile, Aamer Jamal piled up 82 runs and stitched the great stand for the 10th wicket in the game, which helped them post 313 runs before getting all out on Day 1 of the third Test.

We’ve had two fantastic Test matches against Pakistan: Pat Cummins

“My hopes are that it’ll be even stronger than it is now, in ten years’ time or 20 years’ time. We’ve had two fantastic Test matches against Pakistan, really well supported, big crowds. So I don’t think it’s in as dramatic a decline as sometimes it gets spoken about. But I think there is an issue just with the amount of other cricket out there, obviously, competition for talent is higher than it’s ever been,” Pat Cummins said ahead of third Test game.

Here are the Playing XI for Australia vs Pakistan Test game:
