Penguins Star struggle to make impact in National Hockey League

Despite initially finding chemistry and success early in the season, Malkin and Smith faced difficulties, particularly as Rickard Rakell struggled to contribute on their line during the opening month.

Now elevated to the line in place of the injured Rakell, Drew O’Connor provides Malkin and Smith with additional space on the ice, thanks to his speed and proficiency in generating turnovers in the offensive zone. These turnovers are expected to translate into increased scoring opportunities for two of the Penguins’ leading scorers this season.
