Pep Guardiola issues massive update on Erling Haaland’s fitness

Manchester City finally snapped their struggles to beat Luton Town on Sunday. The 2-1 win came courtesy of goals from Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish. This win keeps City in 4th place 2 points behind 3rd placed Aston Villa and 4 points behind leaders Liverpool.

One of the biggest names missing on Sunday was star striker Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has already scored 14 goals this season. The 23-year-old has got injured during the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the mid-week fixture.

Manchester City manager gives update on star player –

City’s manager Pep Guardiola was brimming with delight after his team came from behind to beat Luton Town 2-1. Elijah Adebayo had put the home team ahead in the 1st minute of extra time in the first half. Silva then got the equalizer with a left-footed curler in the 62nd minute. Three minutes later Grealish secured all three points for the title holders.

Speaking at the end of the game Guardiola was asked about Haaland and his fitness after the injury last week. The Spaniard said that the Norwegian was suffering from a ‘Bone Stress Reaction’. “He wasn’t ready today, I don’t think so for Crystal Palace on Saturday but hopefully he can be ready for Saudi Arabia”

Manchester City will play the Club World Cup with 6 other clubs starting on 12th December in Jeddah. The City manager also said “The day after the game he couldn’t walk properly. Yesterday I spoke to him and he said he was feeling much better. That he could without pain. The doctor says we have to see week by week, day by day and how it can get better”

The Citizen as they are called will play Crystal Palace on Saturday at home. On Wednesday Guardiola and side will play their final group game of the UEFA Champions League game. The reigning European champions have already qualified for the next stage and are unbeaten so far.

After facing Crystal Palace, the entire Manchester City team flies to Jeddah and play the Semi-Finals of the Club World Cup. City will then come back home to play Everton and Sheffield United in three days ahead of the New Year.
