Goalkeeper & Defence

Andre Onana (5/10)

As lukewarm as Bayern were in the first half, they were handled carefully when called upon. Not a chance for the goal by Kingsley Coman. Onana did not commit blunders but remained out of play by kicking long.

Diogo Dalot (5/10)

His header proved to be key as it kept Leroy Sane from having an easy opportunity. moved to left-back after Luke Shaw was substituted throughout the second half. Was neither too good nor too bad.

Harry Maguire (6/10)

He had a good time in the middle till he sustained a groin injury. Probably lucky not to concede a penalty, although he played strong defence up to the first half when he was substituted due to a groyne injury.

Raphael Varane (6/10)

Proved himself with his performance and showed why he shouldn’t have been benched. For the first time in 11 games, he was added back to the starting lineup, and his knowledge and skill helped hold Bayern at bay.

Luke Shaw (5/10)

His injury remains a concern. But in the middle, his side was a bit too open. Until he went off injured during the half, he played with consistency and had the sole goal attempt of any United player in the first half.

Midfield

Sofyan Amrabat (5/10)

The passing of the midfielder was not great and he looked off pace. He committed a foul. Leroy Sane drove past United like a tiger before he suddenly decided not to fire. Accused of deliberately offending Jamal Musiala.

Scott McTominay (6/10)

He could not find scoring opportunities and was not good at linking, although he was instrumental in good press.

Bruno Fernandes (6/10)

He had all the chances in the world but failed to convert them into goals. He made a convert as Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s pull-back forced him to hit the goal. An error that made a teammate chastise you.

Attack

Antony (6/10)

The €100 million forward has not scored a goal since April, so far. His strong performance against Bournemouth ended, and it did not pick up here. He could not attack as well as one would’ve liked, although he worked hard.

Rasmus Hojlund (5/10)

Despite being a centre-forward, he had no shots or passes. Dayot Upamecano mistreated and starved them of service. Compared to one of the best, it appeared like a beginner striker.

Alejandro Garnacho (5/10)

He had a lot of possession against the easily beaten Noussair Mazraoui, who was substituted at the half but was unable to have a significant impression. He did try his best to change the fortunes for the side but in vain.

Substitutes & Manager

Jonny Evans (5/10)

Did his job fairly, but was not good enough.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (6/10)

He was good with his defence and showed promises of being good in the upcoming days.

Facundo Pellistri (5/10)

Could not do much in his stay in the middle for about 15 minutes.

Hannibal Mejbri (5/10)

Was not good enough at all

Kobbie Mainoo (N/A)

Could not do much as the game was pretty much done and dusted by the time he came in.

Erik ten Hag (5/10)

His selection was good, but the attack looked weak.
