Predicted playing XI of Gujarat in Indian T20 League 2023

The Indian T20 League 2023 is around the corner as it is set to kick off on March 31 after the completion of the Women’s T20 League. The opening match of the cash-rich league will be played between the Chennai franchise and the defending champions Gujarat at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.

In the last edition, the Gujarat side was exceptional from the start. They scored a total of 20 points from their 14 league games with 10 wins and four defeats. In the playoffs, the Gujarat side defeated Rajasthan to enter the final where they faced off each other, once again, in the final where the former emerged victorious in their debut season.

Let’s look at the predicted playing XI of the Gujarat franchise for the Indian T20 League 2023:

1. Top Order:

Wriddhiman Saha and star India opener, Shubman Gill will open the innings. Saha will act as a wicketkeeper too. Last season, Gill scored 483 runs in 16 matches. At number three, Kane Williamson will come, which will also provide stability to the side. He played for the Hyderabad franchise till last season but was released by them ahead of the mini-auction.

2. Middle-Order and All-rounders:

The Gujarat franchise skipper Hardik Pandya will be one of the team’s most important players this year. He was one of the team’s finest players last season after a breakthrough season. David Miller is renowned for his thunderous strikes in the middle and in the death overs.

They have the likes great all-rounders like Rahul Tewatia and Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan. They can play quickfire knocks for their side whenever it is needed and also bowl some handy overs for their side.

3. Lower-Order:

Gujarat Titans’ bowling unit appears to be incredibly deadly and powerful. In Indian T20 League last year, Mohammad Shami was the Gujarat’s go-to pace bowler, taking 20 wickets in 16 innings while bowling exceptionally well. He would be accompanied by young Indian seamer Shivam Mavi and West Indies speedster Alzarri Joseph.
