‘Punjab Kings ka toh har saal ka hai ye’ – Fans react to a thrilling game between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023

Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals faced off in their last league game of the season and both the teams were eyeing the playoffs with a win today. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to field first. Prabhsimran Singh was defeated by Boult in the first over and the decision was starting to prove right. Although they both batted well, Atharva Taide as well as Dhawan were both out during the powerplay. They were staring death in the face at 50/4 during the seventh over when Saini promptly removed Livingstone.

Arriving and launching a counterattack, Jitesh Sharma joined Curran in a 64-run partnership while scoring 44 off of 28 deliveries. Following the loss of his wicket, Chahal was given the opportunity to take on the penultimate over, which resulted in 28 runs and was watched by Shahrukh Khan with Sam Curran. In the final over, Shahrukh hit three boundaries to put the finishing touches on the game. On this pitch that appears to be a batting haven, 187 was still merely a par score.

Taking a look at the Rajasthan Royals chase of the Kings XI Punjab total

Jos Buttler had previously gotten caught up with a duck earlier in the chase. However, Jaiswal and Padikkal each scored fifty to restart the chase.  To overtake RCB in the standings, Rajasthan Royals required to win the match with nine or more balls remaining. They won a close game despite not being able to take it down in 18.3 overs.

In the last over of the game, Dhawan tried his luck with a spinner once more, but it didn’t work. He depleted his bowling resources faster than usual in an effort to get wickets, but that meant Chahar’s final over had just nine runs to work with. Dhruv Jurel, RR’s season-long find, was able to put a bow on it with a straight six into the stands.
