Rainbow Six Siege adds marketplace to trade cosmetics

Ubisoft has finally released the beta for the Rainbow Six Siege marketplace. Players can trade their unwanted cosmetics with others for R6 credits just like Steam marketplace.

It is important to note that not every weapon skin can be sold. Since the marketplace is in beta testing, not all players have access to its features. Players will need to sign up and wait for a confirmation mail from Ubisoft.

Benefits of marketplace

Currently, players need to try their luck in random skin packs. With the marketplace, players can sell their unwanted cosmetics and purchase the ones they want directly. The transactions use the premium in-game currency R6 Credits.

Players can either purchase the currency or save up by selling their cosmetics from free packs. As per reports, some of the rare cosmetics have been sold for over $100.

Valve also introduced the marketplace way back for its games. It currently boasts a multi-billion-dollar cosmetics market. While R6 has a long way to go, the update gives players a new way to acquire cosmetics.

Like Steam, players will also be charged a Transaction Fee of 10% on any sale. This means that a cosmetic sold for 100 R6 credits will only give the players 90 R6 credits.

A buy or sell order will stay active for 30 days before expiring. However, players can manually cancel them before the sale. After the sale has been concluded, there will be no refunds.

How to get access to the marketplace beta?

Players will need to sign up at the official website. If successful, they will get access to the beta. Only the players with beta access can buy and sell cosmetics. However, others can still browse.

The application will be evaluated by the development for any irregularities. Players who have been banned for cheating and toxicity will not get beta access. Information regarding sanctions on full release is currently unavailable.
