Rishabh Pant suffers fatal injuries following freak car crash on Uttarakhand-Delhi highway

Indian star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was taken to the hospital following a serious car accident, which he survived while driving from Delhi to Uttarakhand. According to Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar, Pant was operating his BMW when it crashed into the divider at the Narsan border and caught fire.

According to the Director General of Police in Uttarakhand, Pant lost control of the vehicle after nodding off behind the wheel. At the time of the collision, Rishabh Pant was the only one in the vehicle, and he shattered glass to get out.

“Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant’s car met with an accident at around 5:30 am,” Director General of Uttarakhand Police, Ashok Kumar, was quoted as saying by NDTV. “The incident took place at Mohammedpur Jat near Roorkee. According to what Pant said, he dozed off while driving and as a result, the car collided with the divider and caught fire. He was moved to the Roorkee hospital from where he has now been shifted to Dehradun.”

Doctors reported that Pant had a leg injury and a head injury. Dehat Swapna Kishore Singh, the superintendent of police, arrived at the location after receiving the information. Rishabh Pant has been taken to Max Hospital in Dehradun, according to Saksham Hospital chairman Dr. Sushil Nagar, who stated that his health is currently stable.

Rishabh’s car struck the railing and caught fire, according to witnesses. The fire was just put out after much struggle. Rishabh Pant was simultaneously brought to Saksham Hospital on Delhi Road after suffering critical injuries in the collision.

Earlier, the Delhi franchise skipper was dropped from both the ODI and T20I series which is scheduled to be played against Sri Lanka in January 2023. Whether Pant was injured, rested, or dropped was not made clear in the Indian Cricket Board press release. Because the board wanted to give the 25-year-old a break before the two-match Test series, as he was not selected to play in the one-day internationals against Bangladesh. His most recent performance was a match-winning 93-run innings in India’s 2-0 series victory against Bangladesh in the second Test at Mirpur.
