Team India won their last and final game of the league stage of the ODI World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands by 160 runs on November 12 at M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. have posted a massive total of 410/4 in the given 50 overs. However, during the chase, the Dutch team could only pile up 250 runs against the hosts and ended their journey at the bottom of the points table.

However, interestingly, few star batters were seen bowling in the game. Notably, India’s stalwart Virat Kohli got the wicket of Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards. The former India skipper conceded 13 runs in three overs. Following them, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav were also spotted bowling two overs in the game.

However, the fans had started cheering for Rohit Sharma to bowl at M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. The Chinnaswamy crowd chanted, ‘Rohit, you do bowling; we’re with you’. Notably, India’s skipper then came for the 47th over, where he dismissed set batter Teja Nidamanuru.

When you have five bowlers, you want to create those options within the team: Rohit Sharma

The clip of fans chatting for Rohit has been widely circulated on social media with great and wonderful comments. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was ecstatic to finish the league stage without a single loss. Moreover, the 36-year-old skipper wishes to continue this momentum in two more games as well.

“We enjoyed the company of each other once the tournament started. When we try and do these kinds of things, we keep the atmosphere nice and healthy outside, guys tend to perform really well without any burden. When you have five bowlers, you want to create those options within the team. Today we had nine (bowling) options, it’s important, this was the game where we could have tried certain things. The seamers bowling those wide Yorkers when it was not needed, but we wanted to do that. As a bowling unit, we wanted to try doing something different and see what we can achieve,” Rohit Sharma said after the win.
