In comparison, the fixtures for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales, as well as the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, were announced over a year in advance. The format will be the same as in 2019, with ten teams competing once in the league round and the top four advancing to the semi-finals.

Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa qualified for the event by finishing in the top eight in the 2020-2023 World Cup Super League. The remaining two teams will be determined at the present World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe, which are being competed in by Sri Lanka, West Indies, Ireland, Nepal, the Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United States of America (USA) and Zimbabwe.

On October 8, India will kick off their campaign against Australia in Chennai. Then, on October 11, India plays against Afghanistan in Delhi; Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 15; Bangladesh in Pune on October 19; New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 22; England in Lucknow on October 29; a qualifier in Mumbai on November 2; South Africa in Kolkata on November 5; and another qualifier in Bengaluru on November 11, the last day of the league stage. India will enter the tournament as favourites for the World Cup. They will try to end their 12 years drought since when they last won the World Cup.
