Asia Cup 2023
‘Sab bik gaye hai moment for kohli bhai’ – Fans react as Virat Kohli busts fake news about him and his wife Anushka Sharma
Virat Kohli has been making waves on social media by debunking rumours and setting the record straight. He recently addressed a news report suggesting that he was building a cricket pitch at his Alibaug farmhouse. He took to Instagram and busted the fake news as he expressed disbelief in the newspaper.
Kohli said, “Bachpan se jo akhbaar Padha hai, wo bhi fake news chaapne lage ab (The newspaper that we have been reading since childhood is also publishing fake news these days).” He also shared pictures of the news report published by a reputed news agency. According to the report, Kohli and Anushka were willing to build a private cricket pitch at their new lavish 8.5-acre farmhouse in Alibaug.
It’s worth noting that after returning from the West Indies tour, the 34-year-old batter was spotted near the construction site in Alibaug. He laid the foundation stone of the farmhouse, which is likely to be operational by the end of the year. In his absence, his elder brother completed the formalities to buy the property and helped the power couple.
Virat Kohli is set to participate in the upcoming Asia Cup
As India gears up to participate in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, former India skipper Virat Kohli will also be looking forward to it. After a nightmare in last year’s tournament, India would look to make a comeback and dominate the intercontinental tournament. This will also finalise the combination and playing XI for the Indian team, which is also set to host the ODI World Cup.
India will start their campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. The marquee tournament will kick off on October 5 with a high-voltage clash between defending champions England and runners-up New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The tournament will conclude on November 19 with the final in Ahmedabad.
