‘Sab team special jersey pehen rahi’ – Fans react as Delhi Capitals set to don special jersey in their last league match against CSK in IPL 2023

Delhi Capitals (DC) are all set to take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for their last league match in IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 20th. Although DC are already out of the playoffs race, they will be looking to finish their season on a high note in front of their home crowd. For that, DC have announced a special jersey for their last home of the season.

The Delhi Franchise took to social media to unveil the special jersey that their players will be wearing against CSK. They shared the image of a Jersey with the caption, “Ending our #IPL2023 campaign on a 🌈 note! Our boys will be donning these special threads in our last home match of the season at #QilaKotla!”

Led by David Warner, DC had a disappointing season in 2023 as they become the first team to get knocked out from the race of playoffs. DC had a disastrous start to the season as they went on to lose their first five matches consecutively and haven’t been able to recover after that. They currently stand in the ninth position at the points table after winning five out of 13 matches played so far.

CSK have a great chance to finish in top two

It wouldn’t be illicit to say that DC may have missed their regular skipper Rishabh Pant throughout the season. The 25-year-old is on the road to recovery after getting injured in a major car accident in December 2022. However, DC will aim for a victory in their final game of 2023 in front of their home crowd.

As DC would be playing to assure their dignity, it will be a crucial encounter for CSK in order to confirm their qualification and also create a great opportunity for them to finish in the top-2. The MS Dhoni-led CSK currently stand in the second position with seven wins and 15 points from 13 matches. Their one game with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was washed out due to rain. After that, both teams were awarded 1-1 point each. If they win against DC, they will finish the league stage with 17 points.
