Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has roped a controversy with a social media post after CSK made it into the final of IPL 2023 after defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 15 runs at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Jadeja was awarded as the ‘Most Valuable Asset of the Match’ for his contribution with both bat and ball.

Batting first, CSK posted a total of 172 runs for the loss of 7 wickets powered by the half-century by the Player of the Match Ruturaj Gaikwad who got out after scoring 60 runs off 44 balls. In the last few overs, Jadeja took charge of CSK’s batting and got out on the last ball of the innings after scoring 22 runs off 16 balls. After that, Jadeja also delivered with the ball as he only conceded 18 runs in his four overs and also took 2 wickets. CSK bowled GT out for 157 runs in 20 overs to make it to their 10th IPL final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 28th.

After the match, Jadeja took to Twitter to share a picture of him while collecting the award for the Most Valuable Asset of the Match. However, the thing that caught the attention of the netizens was the caption he put on with the picture. ‘Upstox knows but..some fans don’t,’ Jadeja wrote while sharing the picture.

‘I keep hearing Mahi bhai’s chants’ – Jadeja

It looks like the 34-year-old has been taking a dig at the fans as he doesn’t seem to be happy when they wait for him to get out so that they can see the CSK skipper MS Dhoni at the crease. It has been mostly seen in the ongoing season that the CSK fans were so desperate to see Dhoni bat that they even celebrate the wicket of aa batter who goes before him.

Jadeja has mostly batted ahead of Dhoni in the ongoing season and he even confessed that doesn’t particularly enjoy the fans chanting “Dhoni’s” name when he is still at the crease. “I keep hearing Mahi bhai’s chants. If I bat higher, then the crowd will wait for me to get out. As long as the team wins, I am happy,” Jadeja said after CSK’s clash with Delhi Capitals on May 10th.
