‘Sapne dekhte raho acchi baat hai’ – Fans react as Haris Rauf picks Virat Kohli as his dream wicket

Pakistan pacer Hairs Rauf has recently claimed Indian batter Virat Kohli as his dream wicket in his latest interview. Earlier also, Rauf mentioned that he needs to get Kohli out after the Indian batter hit him for those famous two sixes in the thrilling India-Pakistan encounter at Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

“No matter what happens, I just need to take your wicket! Only [Virat] Kohli and you are the exceptions right now. [Kane] Williamson was saved from slip twice. But I have these 3-4 players in my mind,” Rauf said earlier as quoted in India.com.

Talking about those two sixes, Rauf said, “Of course, it hurt when that went for a six. I didn’t say anything but it hurt me personally. I thought something wrong had happened. Anyone who knows cricket knows what sort of a player he is. He has played that shot now; I don’t think he can do that again. Such shots are quite rare, you can’t hit them again and again. His timing was perfect, and it went for a six.”

Kohli’s epic knock lead India to a memorable victory

An unreal batting masterclass was shown by Kohli on 23rd October 2022 in T20 World Cup encounter against Pakistan. India were struggling at 31 for 4 while chasing a target of 160 runs at the MCG. After that, Kohli and Hardik Pandya saved the day with a 113-run partnership for the fifth wicket and put India back into the game with a 113-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

However, the momentum turned in India’s way after Kohli hit those two famous sixes against Haris Rauf in the penultimate over of the match, when 28 runs were needed off the last 8 balls. After that, there was a lot of drama in the final over, where India lost the wickets of Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik, and a six off a no-ball by Kohli. After that, Ravichandran Ashwin took a single on the final delivery to give India one of the most iconic victories of all time. Kohli played his one of the best T20 knocks as he remained unbeaten on 82 runs off 53 balls hitting six fours and four sixes.
