Seth Rollins shocked as he receives long-term booking from WWE

Published on

Seth Rollins has been added to the Backlash along with Omos as announced last night during WWE SmackDown. The decision has puzzled a lot of fans around the world as there was no backstory to explain why the match was made. There has been no interaction between Rollins and Omos this past week on RAW, and both have never faced each other one-on-one. Even Rollins seemed to be surprised by the news.

Notably, Rollins and Omos had few interactions in the past on TV. with fans pulling up an interaction between them back in 2022. Rollins also claimed that he broke John Cena’s nose as a part of the backstage segment before he was interrupted by Omos and MVP. It was common for random matches to be added to pay-per-view cards back in the 1980s and 90s. These days, WWE prefers to attach a storyline to every big match.

MVP claimed Omos to be inevitable in front of Rollins

While, ahead of the Money in the Bank, MVP claimed that Omos would win the gimmick match since many fans believed that he won’t need a ladder to reach the briefcase. The segment ended when MVP told Rollins that Omos was inevitable and no one can’t do anything to stop him.

At Money in the Bank, Omos was as problematic as expected, before Rollins put a crumb stone on the apron and he was taken out of the match and was also power bombed through the announce table. Apparently, Rollins was the main man who cost The Nigerian Giant the match and the MITB contract, which left him with very little to do on RAW for several months.

With the Draft coming up, Omos would be looking to request this match against Rollins after seeing The Visionary come out on top at WrestleMania and he is also aware that it could be his final chance to settle the score with the American Star. While Rollins is already a main event-level superstar in WWE and he will look to become a World Champion in one swift move by taking away Omos’ only shot.
