Bangladesh cricketer Shakib-Al-Hasan has recently opened up about his participation in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. He also spoke about his future ODI captaincy. Notably, Shakib-Al-Hasan is part of politics after the ODI World Cup 2023 debacle, and his place in the national squad is a big question for him. However, the star cricketer is currently taking part in the Bangladesh Premier League.

The star cricketer affirms that right now his focus is on the ongoing BPL tournament. However, he will talk to officials about his participation in the Test series against Sri Lanka, which is set to be a crucial part of WTC 2023-2025. Meanwhile, the 36-year-old cricketer accepted that he is facing problems with his form and failing to produce runs in the BPL.

“We are still playing the tournament. I will speak to the officials, and then take the decision (about playing the Sri Lanka series or not). I will take a decision in this regard (ODI captaincy) after talking with the board but we still have not discussed it. The more I score runs, the more comfortable I will be. I can’t find the rhythm when there are no runs. I have never done this in my life (like) just playing with one side,” Shakib-Al-Hasan said.

Shakib-Al-Hasan has also opened up about his retinal issues and how they are a big problem in cricket. Moreover, the star all-rounder reveals that he has gone to Singapore as well for the checkup and is still waiting to find out what is in his eyes.

“I don’t know when this (eyes) will improve. This thing that you are repeating about my eye, eye, eye, eye. There’s no problem in the eye. What you see wearing spectacles, I can see better than you. We are trying to find what has gone wrong. I went to Singapore to see what happened to my eyes and body and we are trying to find out where the problem is,” he added further.
