Star Citizen’s latest spaceship bundle have gamers baffled

Published on

The open-world space MMO game which has earned a good reputation among gamers, Star Citizen have now launched a new spaceship bundle named Legatus 2953 costing $48,000 in world currency.

What’s more bizarre is that players will need to have a VIP membership to purchase access to the new bundle. How do you get a VIP membership, you ask? By pledging at least $1,000 or spending the same amount in-game.

Cloud Imperium Games, the developers, are already known to add bundles like these. The first-ever Legatus bundle was released back in 2018 and also had an insane price tag of $27,000. However, the latest bundle is making everyone’s head spin.

Star Citizen is dubbed, as the game that is never going to be launched by the gamers. The game was announced back in 2012, but the development was reportedly in development even before that.

While the players can still get access to the game and play it, there is not much to do as MMO standards. Those who have played the game clarify that it is an actual game with ongoing development. The scope, however, is far too big, which is believed to be the main issue.

While the game has a dedicated player base, one question that remains on top, is whether it is actually worth it. Some say that players can experience the same thing much cheaper, as the entry point for the game is set at $40. Although it is already pretty clear that someone spending over $50,000 is not an ordinary gamer.

Cloud Imperium Games have also recently announced that the game’s feature is complete and is currently being polished. For a game that has been too long into development, gamers are a bit aware, especially with botched releases from big gaming studios in recent years.
