‘Superkings ka dusra naam consistency hai’ – Fans react as Texas Super Kings qualify for Playoffs in MLC 2023

In the ongoing Major League Cricket, the Texas Super Kings beat the San Francisco Unicorns by three wickets on Monday. With this victory, TKS qualified for the playoffs with three wins in five games. Allrounders Daniel Sams and Milind Kumar scripted TKS’s victory with an amazing comeback from 92/5 to 172/7. Sams, in his innings, scored 42 runs off 18 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes.

Earlier, in the game, SFU opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 171/8 in 20 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade and Chaitanya Bishnoi were the top scorers for SFU. Wade, in his innings, scored 49 runs off 30 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Bishnoi, in his innings, scored 35 runs off 21 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes.

Notably, in the last four overs, SFU added 51 runs and posted a competitive total in a crucial game. Meanwhile, for TSK, Gerald Coetzee proved to be the best man with the bowl. He took four wickets, including one each from Corey Anderson, Marcus Stoinis, and SFU skipper Aaron Finch. He was well accompanied by Daniel Sams and Mitchell Santner.

In response, TSK got the worst possible start. They lost two wickets in the first eight balls and later crumbled to 92/5 in 13.1 overs. Pacers Carmi Le Roux and Haris Rauf created havoc as they dismissed TSK skipper Faf du Plessis and Cody Chetty in the first two overs. However, another opener, Devon Conway, tried to rescue his team as he scored 30 runs off 27 balls but failed to capitalise against Rauf.

However, local batter Milind Kumar held one end and tried to smack some runs. He, along with Sams, took on Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, and Stoinis in the next four overs to get over the line. Both added 70 runs off just 26 balls for the sixth wicket and scripted an amazing comeback for the TSK. Milind scored 52 runs off 42 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.
