Published on

Tekken 8 has become quite popular among gamers ever since its release. The main reason is the among of activities available to do inside the game. A quick look at Steam numbers will tell it is currently the most popular fighting game. It is also available on other platforms like PS5 and Xbox.

Even if the console player count is not visible, it is presumably high. The game reaches almost 50,000 concurrent players and is averaging over 30,000 on a daily basis. While there was a little net code issue on Day 1, it was fixed rather quickly.

Why is Tekken 8 so popular?

Tekken has already been one of the most popular franchises. The game has somewhat interesting lore that has been adapted into movies and anime. However, what the game does best is let to fight each other virtually.

While games in other genres also have virtual fighting. They often have other elements. While healing and taking cover are an essential part of other games, Fighting games are pure chaos. Players have nowhere to run, and higher-level matches depend on your skills.

In the latest instalment, the developers have spiced up the game with different game modes. These include –

Story Mode
Arcade Quest
Arcade Battle
Character Episodes
Super Ghost Battle
VS Mode
Online Mode
Tekken Ball

Apart from the game modes, players also have a huge roster of 32 characters, with more coming this year. The characters have interesting storylines and are also fun to play in general.

Furthermore, the developers have also announced the Tekken World Tour for 2024. Players will get to test out how well the new characters stand against the old roster. They will also be fighting for the first Tekken 8 champion.
