‘My leg is sore, don’t know to what extent……..’ – Temba Bavuma’s massive claim on his injury ahead of ODI World Cup 2023 semi-final vs Australia

The South African cricket team beat Afghanistan by five wickets in their last clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 on November 10. Notably, the in-form Proteas produced some magnificent performances in the marquee event and went on to place them in the second spot with seven wins and two losses in the points table. Meanwhile, South Africa’s skipper, Temba Bavuma, who sustained the injuries in his last clash, has opened up about the injuries after the game.

The top-order batsman reveals that his left leg is sore, and he does not know when he will get fine. In addition, the opening batsman wanted to continue their winning moment in the semi-finals, where they will be playing the second knockout game after finishing in the second spot in the points table.

“My leg is sore, don’t know to what extent, it’s gonna have to be fine. I had the option of coming off. I wanted to be out there with the guys. This opportunity for me to spend some time out in the middle. That’s what I felt was right at that moment. Winning is a habit, we want to take that momentum through,” Temba Bavuma said.

Moreover, Temba Bavuma also hailed the batting performances of Van Der Dussen, who guided them to win the game after they were 100/4 against the Afghanistan side in their last clash. The 33-year-old cricketer wants to play his semi-final game against five-time world champions Australia at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata despite being injured.

“We batted second and to get over the line in that manner, that’s going to put a lot of confidence. Fantastic knock by Rassie who took ownership of the innings and the guys batted around him. The wicket got better. We’ll take the win, take the confidence and the momentum that comes with it. We’d like to be playing here again. We have a big hurdle that we have to get over first that is Australia in Kolkata,” he added further.
