The Wankhede stadium in Mumbai is all set to host the one-off Test match between the Indian women team and the Australian women team in December 2023. Notably, the side will be led by India’s skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur. There is no official announcement of this news from the Indian Cricket Board. In addition, according to reports, the Australian women’s team will play a multi-format series against Indian women team in December 2023.

Meanwhile, some sources claim that the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai is set to host the three matches of the ODI series along with the off-off Test match this year. However, DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai will host the T20I series between the Indian women team and the Australian women team, and it is likely to take place in January 2024.

Notably, the Wankhede Stadium is currently set to host India’s clash against Sri Lanka in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, whereas two semi-finals will also take place at the same venue. Notably, the Indian women’s team faced Australia in an all-format cricket match back in 2021, where the Australian side completely dominated the Indian squad.

Indian women team recently won the gold medal in the Asian Games 2023

However, the India women team has no schedule, as they will be directly seen in action in December. Notably, the Indian women team recently won the gold medal in the Asian Games 2023 as they thrashed Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the semifinals and finals in Hangzhou, China. Meanwhile, their quarterfinal clash against Malaysia was abandoned after rain halted the play.

Meanwhile Australia’s great all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner recently spoke about how conditions will play a role in the team’s preparations. “We know when we’ve played shorter format it’s generally pretty flat. So yeah, the Test match poses a different type of thing as well. But I think naturally, we’re going to prepare the way that we normally would. We’re going over there pretty early. So it gives us a great opportunity to actually get used to the conditions and get used to being back in India again,” Ashleigh Gardener  said.
