‘They are responsible for the debacle’ – Former India cricketer lashes out at Rahul Dravid and Hardik Pandya after losing T20I series against the West Indies

Hardik Pandya and Co. suffered a 2-3 loss in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Notably, after the loss, a plethora of fans and cricket pundits are slamming India’s performances in T20Is.

Meanwhile, speaking on the same subject, former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad called the Men in Blue an ordinary side. In addition, the former cricketer slammed Team India as they lost against the West Indies, who were unable to qualify for the T20I World Cup. Notably, the right-arm pacer also mentioned India’s loss against Bangladesh in an ODI in December 2022.

“India has been a very very ordinary limited overs side for some time now. They have been humbled by a West Indies side that failed to qualify for the T20 WC few months back. We had also lost to Ban in the ODI series. Hope they introspect instead of making silly statements,” Venkatesh Prasad tweeted.

Moreover, the great pacer says it hurts to see India suffer the loss against the frail teams. Furthermore, the legendary bowler highlights that Team India is missing the hunger and the fire to win the games.

“Not just 50 overs, West Indies had failed to qualify for the T20 World cup last Oct- Nov as well. It pains to see India perform poorly and brush it under the carpet, under the garb of process. That hunger, fire is missing and we live in an illusion,” he added.

They are responsible for the debacle and need to be accountable: Venkatesh Prasad

In addition, the 54-year-old cricketer feels that India skipper Hardik Pandya and head coach Rahul Dravid are responsible for the losses, and they need to be held accountable for the same. Moreover, the Bangalore-born cricketer believes there is an inconsistency in selection and random stuff going on, which makes them lose against the West Indies.

“They are responsible for the debacle and need to be accountable. Process and such words are misused now. MS meant it, guys now just use the word. There is no consistency in selection, random stuff happening too much,” he concluded.
