Team India concluded their second innings against West Indies in the 2nd Test at 181 for 2 on day four’s last session, posting the hosts a challenging 365-run total to win the match on Sunday. Earlier, Indian star batters Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were unbeaten on 29 and 52, respectively. Meanwhile, rain once again played spoilsport as it restricted the afternoon session to just three overs, enabling India to extend their lead to 301 runs during tea.

Notably, Ishan Kishan hit 52 off 33 balls, following which the Men in Blue declared their second inning. In addition, during the start of play, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma blasted 57 runs off just 44 balls. Earlier, star pacer Mohammed Siraj produced a five-wicket haul early on during Day 4, as the Rohit Sharma-led side bowled out the West Indies team for 255 runs to gain a commanding 183-run lead.

India looks to be the clear favourite for Day 5

Meanwhile, opening batter Brathwaite produced 75 runs off 235 balls in reply to India’s first innings total of 438, but the rest of the team was unable to adequately assist him. Following that, in the second innings, while chasing, the West Indies collected 76 runs for the loss of only two wickets on Day 4’s last session, all taken by the great spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Notably, India currently has a 288-run lead, and relying on the batting order collapse that the hosts had in the Day 4 opening session, India looks to be the clear favourite for Day 5.

The West Indies batters Tagenarine Chanderpaul (24*) and Jermaine Blackwood (20*) will resume play on the last day of the two-match Test series. The Men in Blue will look to take wickets on the final Day to win the second Test match against the West Indies. Moreover, it will be exciting to see whether India will win the second match of the series or draw if rain plays spoilsport on Day 5.
