Rinku Singh, an all-arounder from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has been in outstanding form for the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rinku has scored 407 runs in 13 games so far in IPL 2023. By the end of the season, he should have reached 450 runs.

In addition to his numbers, Rinku has been a key player for KKR, finishing the innings and making the chase easy for his side. He scored five sixes in the last over of Yash Dayal’s bowling against Gujarat Titans (GT) to help KKR come from behind and win the match. He has since played several excellent, game-winning innings.

After winning the last fixture against the four-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), KKR locked horns with Lucknow Super Giants in the 68th fixture of the 2023 edition of the cash-rich league. Ahead of their encounter, former England batter, Kevin Pietersen has regarded the youngster as the best finisher of IPL 2023.

Abhishek Nayar, the assistant coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders, praised Rinku Singh as the perfect addition to any squad and said that the young batsman has always been a fantastic spin bowler.

I think it’s just the beginning and the tip of the iceberg: Abhishek Nayyar

After Rinku scored another game-winning run against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk to keep KKR‘s thin chances of making the IPL 2023 playoff alive, Nayar made his comments. In a crucial encounter in the Indian Premier League on Sunday, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh each scored fifty runs on the way to a 99-run match-winning partnership for Kolkata Knight Riders, who defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets.

“Rinku Singh has always been a great player of spin. If you go back and look at his first-class season, domestic cricket in general, Rinku Singh is one name that will come across as one of those three-four people who have been successful over the past two-three season,” Nayar was quoted as in the post-match presser.

“He has always been someone who has done that for UP in domestic cricket in different situations. He knows how to play in these conditions, domestic cricket gives you one of the most challenging pitches. He has been through the grind, I am so happy to see him achieve success like that,” the left-hand all-rounder stated.

“I think it’s just the beginning and the tip of the iceberg in terms of what he is gonna achieve going forward because he is a level-headed, hard-working who wants to evolve as a cricketer and he is the ideal package to have in any format in any team,” the 39-year-old asserted.
