Throwback to best video game releases of 2023

Last year was arguably the best year for the gaming industry. Gamers got to enjoy some great games, witness some of the greatest gaming moments and have more choices than ever in both AAA gaming categories and Indie titles.

While gaming ultimately comes down to player preference, the people were pretty vocal about the one they liked and enjoyed playing the most. Here are the most popular game releases for 2023 –

Hi-Fi RUSH

Kicking off 2023, players did not expect much from Hi-Fi RUSH, however, it turned out to be one of the best rhythm-based beat em up game featuring platforming and epic boss battles all while rocking to the dope tunes.

Alan Wake 2

In a sequel to Alan Wake from 2010 by Remedy Entertainment, Alan Wake 2 told the story of novelist Alan Wake trapped in another dimension. The atmosphere paired with writing and game design made it one of the favourites of gamers.

Baldur’s Gate 3

Steamrolling others was Baldur’s Gate 3 which won multiple Game of the Year (GOTY) awards on various award shows. This Dungeons and Dragons-based game was called the industry standard by gamers calling other companies to take inspiration while making games.

Street Fighter 6

The Street Fighter series was long due to an instalment, and Capcom delivered. The new game not only added better visuals but also simplified controls, which was much appreciated by gamers and allowed new people to try the game without problems.

Legend of Zelda – Tears of the Kingdom

A direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Legend of Zelda – Breath of the Wild by Nintendo, Tears of the Kingdom successfully added to its successor with a great story, exploration with puzzles and new mechanics that were loved by gamers.
