In a thrilling encounter between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Saturday, April 15th at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow, PBKS emerged victorious, chasing down a target of 160 with 3 balls to spare.

LSG won the toss and elected to bat first. KL Rahul, the LSG captain, led from the front and played a captain’s knock, scoring 74 off 56 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. However, the rest of the LSG batting lineup failed to contribute significantly, with Kyle Mayers the next highest scorer with 29 off 23 balls. PBKS captain Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets in his 4 overs, while Kagiso Rabada took 2 wickets in his 4 overs. LSG managed to score 159/8 in their 20 overs.

In reply PBKS started off poorly and lost 2 wickets at just 17 runs. After Matt Short’s dismissal, Sikandar Raza took charge and played a brilliant innings of 57 off 41 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Matt Short also played well, scoring 34 off 22 balls with 5 fours and 1 six. However, it was Shahrukh Khan who stole the show with his quickfire knock of 23 off 10 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes, taking PBKS across the finish line with 3 balls to spare.

The LSG bowlers struggled to make an impact, with only Ravi Bishnoi and Dushmantha Chameera managing to take a wicket each. PBKS reached the target of 160 with a score of 163/4 in 19.3 overs, winning the match by 6 wickets.

The win will come as a huge boost to PBKS, who had suffered a defeat in their previous match, while LSG will be disappointed with their performance after posting a decent total on the board. The player of the match award was given to Sikandar Raza for his match-winning knock.

Overall, it was an entertaining match with some brilliant performances from both teams, but in the end, it was PBKS who emerged victorious with a clinical run chase. Following this win, PBKS now move to 4th on the table with 6 points in 5 matches. Meanwhile, LSG remain at 2nd with 6 points and better NRR.
