Top batters with most centuries in IPL history

A hundred across any of the cricket formats is one of the greatest feats for a batsman. In T20 cricket, putting up a three-figure score is a mammoth job. Players that can power hit and score quickly have a good chance of going over 100 runs in T20s. 

The number of records set for centuries scored in the IPL is no different. There have been players who have scored many centuries in a single IPL season and have entered the list through that. But there are certain players who have scored centuries across different seasons as well.

Jos Buttler

Jos Butler is one of the most consistent overseas players in the history of the Indian Premier League. In IPL 2022, he smashed four centuries and has the record of the joint-most centuries in a single IPL season.

In total, he has five centuries which is the joint second-highest in the league’s history and is also looking lethal this season. He is in the running again to be the orange cap winner and since he is opening the innings for Rajasthan Royals, he has a good chance of scoring centuries this season.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the greatest Indian batters to have played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history and he has been one of the most consistent Indian batters in the league since its inception. There was a lot of criticism in the early seasons regarding his strike rate and no centuries but he overcame his haters during the 2016 season.

In Royal Challengers Bangalore’s glorious 2016 season, Virat Kohli was the orange cap winner with 973 runs, which is still a record to be broken by any other batter. He already has five centuries to his name and four of them came during the 2016 campaign. He is still in great form and would be looking to add a few more to his name.

Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle, is arguably one of the greatest overseas players to have played in the Indian Premier League. He was one of the most lethal batters of his time and once he got set on the crease, he was simply unstoppable.

He has the record of most centuries in Indian Premier League history with six centuries under his belt. Gayle has the record of the highest score ever in the Indian Premier League history with a score 175* against the Kings XI Punjab.
