1. Stuart Broad finished his Test career with more than 600 wickets

Before retiring from international cricket, Stuart Broad became the second pacer after James Anderson to complete 600 wickets. In the fourth Test of the Ashes 2023, the former completed his 600th wicket in the form of Travis Head. During the last Test of the series, the T20 World Cup 2010 winner announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

2. Afghanistan beating Pakistan for the first time

For the first time in their history, Afghanistan beat Pakistan across all formats. In the ODI World Cup 2023 game between the two, the Green Brigade won the toss and elected to bat first. They amassed 282/7 with Abdullah Shafique (58), Babar Azam (77), Iftikhar Ahmed (40), and Shadab Khan (40) getting runs. In reply, the Blue Brigade chased down the target with eight wickets in hand. For the first time, Afghanistan won a game against Pakistan.

3. Nepal qualifying for T20 World Cup for the first time

For the first time in the history of the T20 World Cup, Nepal qualified for the 2024 edition, to be played in the West Indies and the USA. The team qualified for the final of the T20 World Cup qualifier Asia region. In the final, Oman, who played in the 2016 and 2021 editions, also played and won the tournament. However, as both teams played the final, they qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024.

4. Uganda qualifying for T20 World Cup for the first time

For the first time in their history, the African team qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024, leaving behind favorites, Zimbabwe. Alongside Namibia, Uganda has qualified for the showpiece event. For the first time after 2021, the Chevrons, Zimbabwe won’t play in the tournament. On the other hand, Namibia will play in the tournament for the third time.

5. Canada qualifying for World Event for the first time after 2011

In the T20 World Cup qualifier America region, only one spot was left in the tournament as USA qualified because of being hosts. Canada reached the final and played against Bermuda. The Red Army won the game by 39 runs and qualified for the T20 World Cup 2024.
