Injuries are often regarded to be a part and parcel of cricket. As per many experts, players often go through injuries in their careers unless they are extremely fit as athletes. Even if one is highly fit as a player, they could get injured while fielding or while bowling. A player can get injured at any point in the game and even get ruled out for a fair amount of time. Hence, it is not ideal to judge the players based on their injuries.
Some of the Indian players have suffered a lot of injuries in recent times. Though they have been assisted by the NCA to recover quickly, they have sustained a lot of injuries every now and then. While some of those injuries have been mild, others have been serious ones. While some injuries take just days to recover, other injuries take months and even years to recover. Some players can end up paying less due to injuries.
Indian players have been prone to injuries. Some of them have lost a lot of time in cricket after getting injured. The list of Indian players to get injured includes batters, pacers, spin bowlers, and All Rounders. Even the Wicket keepers have suffered injuries. 5. Ishant Sharma
Ishant Sharma played a lot for India in the late 2000s and the 2010s, particularly in the longest format of the game. However, he faced a lot of injuries in his career. During the IPL 2020, he sustained a left side strain and got ruled out of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020/21. In 2021, Ishant could not take part in the series against New Zealand at home due to a heel injury. In the last year, he returned to competitive cricket by taking part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
4. Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma has been one of the key players for India over the years. However, he has also sustained many injuries on the way. During the IPL 2020, the star batter sustained a left hamstring injury and got ruled out of the limited overs series and the first two Tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020/21. In the 2nd innings of the 4th Test at the Gabba, Rohit injured his elbow but played the following series against England. He has also sustained minor injuries since then to miss some important matches.
3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar being the pacer is susceptible to injuries given his action. The star pacer is not a regular in the team but sustained many injuries when he was a key bowler in the team. Even in recent times, injuries have haunted him. In 2018, Kumar could not take part in the tour of England due to an injury. In a couple of instances later, the right-arm pacer sustained hamstring and thigh injuries respectively, which kept him out of the side for a long time.
2. Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is infamous for his injuries. The star All-rounder sustained an ankle injury in the ODI WC 2023 against Bangladesh and has not been in action since then. Likewise, during the Asia Cup 2018, he suffered a serious injury and was ruled out of cricket for several months. He also suffered another injury in 2019 and did not bowl for more than a year. Hardik is hoping to return to action just before the start of the IPL 2024, which is crucial ahead of the T20 WC 2024.

KL Rahul has been one of the players who have been highly prone to injuries. The star player has been the Indian player with the greatest number of injuries in the last few years. In the period 2021 and 2022, he missed a lot of action due to a lot of injuries. Even in 2023, during the IPL, the LSG skipper sustained a serious injury which kept him out of action for more than four months. The star player once suffered a wrist injury, a thigh strain, a hamstring injury, and a groin injury in succession.
