Hitting sixes in Tests is not an easy feat. In particular, smashing a lot of them in a single over is a difficult feat. The fact that the red ball is more difficult to hit than the white ball makes it a great feat for the batters to smash a lot of sixes in a single innings of a Test match. Not many batters have been able to pull off such feats in the longest format of the game in past.
However, some of them have been able to entertain the fans with their batting by smashing a lot of sixes in a particular match in the longest format of the game. From India, there are a few batters who have hit seven or more sixes in a single Test innings. To be precise, there are seven batters who have hit seven or more sixes in a Test innings from India.

5. Harbhajan Singh (Seven sixes)
Harbhajan Singh smashed seven sixes in an innings in 2010. The match took place against New Zealand in Hyderabad. In his stay in the middle, the lower-order batter scored 111 runs in 116 balls, which included seven huge sixes. The former Indian batter definitely surprised many with his six-hitting spree in the middle. His knock came at a batting SR of 95.68.
4. Virender Sehwag (Seven sixes)
Virender Sehwag is known for hitting sixes for fun. It was one such day in Brabourne stadium in 2009 when Sri Lanka toured India for a Test series. Against one of his favourite opponents, the Indian opener took the bowlers to the cleaners. The star batter scored 293 runs in 254 balls which came at a strike rate of 115.35. In his innings, Sehwag hit a lot of fours and seven huge sixes. Some of them came against Muttiah Muralitharan.
3. Mayank Agarwal (Eight sixes)
Mayank Agarwal was in terrific form in 2019. In the series against Bangladesh, the Indian opener scored a double hundred in the first Test in Indore. He scored 243 runs in 330 balls, a knock which included eight sixes. It was his second double-hundred in the consecutive series. India won the Test by a comfortable margin and Agarwal bagged the Player of the match award for his insane batting in the middle.
2. Navjot Singh Sidhu (Eight Sixes)
Navjot Singh Sidhu was known for smashing the spinners. Particularly at home, the star batter took the best bowlers in the world to the cleaners. In one such game against Sri Lanka in Lucknow in 1994, ‘Sixer Sidhu’ smashed a whopping eight sixes in an innings. The record was iconic in the Indian cricket. It took 30 years for a batter from India to break the record. Sidhu scored 124 runs in 223 balls.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in serious form in the ongoing series against England. The young batter has impressed fans by scoring runs for fun. In Rajkot, the star batter smashed his second double ton in a row and took the attack on England. Jaiswal smashed 214 runs in 236 balls, which included a whopping 12 sixes. It is not just the best record by an Indian batter, but also the joint best for a batter in the history of the format along with Wasim Akram.
