Top 5 names missing from list of players with base price of 2 crores for IPL 2024 auction

The IPL fever is back with the teams having already started to prepare for the IPL 2024. Notably, a total of 1166 players from different parts of the world have registered their names in the biggest cricket league. However, out of them, only 590 cricketers go under the hammer, of which only a limited number of them get picked by the franchises for different purposes.

While many high class players like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Gerald Coetzee, and others have registered their names, some others have not even registered their names for the league, owing to different reasons. Meanwhile, here are five such players who have opted out of the IPL 2024.

5. Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Bangladesh star cricketer Mehidy Hasan Miraz is one of the most talented cricketers. Notably, the Bangladeshi cricketer is a multi utility player, who can contribute with both bat and ball. Unfortunately, Mehidy has not registered his name for the league. However, the reason for the same is the national priority, as Bangladesh has a packed schedule.

4. Kusal Mendis

Sri Lanka star opening batter Kusal Mendis was one of the most explosive batters of the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, the Sri Lankan could keep wickets as well. He was going to be in demand in the IPL 2024. however the top-order batter decided to opt out of the IPL 2024 in order to concentrate on the T20 World Cup 2024.

3. Joe Root

English star cricketer Joe Root was picked by Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2023. However, the star cricketer got to play in just one game for the franchise in the season. In addition, given the fact that the four overseas slots were obvious, Root was neglected by RR. Notably, ahead of the IPL 2024, Root opted himself out of the season, as he probably did not find value in taking part in the league.

2. Ben Stokes

Mumbai Indians star Jofra Archer was one of the best pacers in the world towards the end of the previous decade. However, constant injuries have kept him out of cricket for a long time since then. Notably, one such injury he sustained during the IPL 2023 needs a bit more time for recovery. However, as a result, Archer has pulled himself out of the IPL 2024.
