‘Tussi ja rahe ho, Tussi naa jao’ – Fans react as MS Dhoni hints at his retirement after CSK’s win over KKR

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni once again indicated that it could be his last season of IPL after his team’s win over Kolkata Knight Riders in match number 33 of the ongoing season at the Eden Gardens. At the post-match presentation, Dhoni acknowledged the crowd present at the stadium and thanked them showering their support on CSK. He also added that it looked like the crowd was present there to give him a farewell.

Although Eden Gardens is the home ground of KKR, it was filled with yellow colour and most of the fans donned CSK jerseys to show their support for MS Dhoni and his side. CSK skipper said that the fans will be coming in purple jerseys again in the next home game of KKR and they donned the yellow jerseys just to give him a farewell.

“I will just say thanks for the support, they came in big numbers. Most of these guys will come in a KKR jersey next time. They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.

‘Fast bowlers are doing their job’ – MS Dhoni

After that, Dhoni also reflected on his team’s performance against KKR and lauded the bowlers for their performance. He also heaped on Ajinkya Rahane who played a fiery knock of 71 runs from just 29 balls that helped CSK to post a huge total of 235 runs.

“Fast bowlers are doing their job, so are spinners in the middle. The wicket was short on one side so we needed to get early wickets and keep the pressure. They have plenty of power hitters, so we had to give respect to the opposition. I have a clear funda, if someone is injured he cannot do anything. You just move on and motivate the youngsters to perform. We have been fortunate that all the guys coming in are performing,” Dhoni said.

“We realise the potential of someone when we allow him to bat the way he bats. We give him freedom, give him the best position. In a team environment, someone has to sacrifice his slot to allow the others to get more comfortable, and allow the team to succeed,” he further added.
