‘Twitter pe bakbak bnd kr or field pe performance dikha’ – Fans react as Jofra Archer shuts fake rumors of him leaving IPL 2023 for elbow surgery in Belgium

Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler Jofra Archer didn’t look happy after he learned the news of him leaving the Indian Premier League 2023 for elbow surgery in Belgium. Recently a report from The Telegraph revealed that Archer underwent elbow surgery in Belgium amid the ongoing 16th edition of the IPL.

Meanwhile, the speedster took to Twitter and busted the fake rumors of him leaving the IPL midway. He wrote, “Putting out an article without knowing the facts & without my consent is crazy. Whoever the reporter is shame on you, an already worrying and troubling time for a player and you exploit it for your personal gain, it’s people like you that are the problem.”

However, the pacer has played just 2 matches in the season so far and picked up only 1 wicket. He even conceded a lot of runs as well as in 2 matches he conceded 75 runs. MI played their first match of the season against Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) in which Archer went wicketless and was pretty expensive as well due to which they had to face a defeat.

MI missed Archer against GT

His performance against Punjab Kings (PBKS) was also disappointing as in his 4 overs quota, Archer managed to take only 1 wicket and conceded 42 runs at an economy rate of 10.50. Archer missed MI’s last match which was against the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) where the bowlers of the five-time champions were brutally thrashed by GT batters as they amassed 207 runs in 20 overs.

MI’s star allrounder Cameron Green bowled 2 overs and conceded 39 runs at an economy rate of 19.50. In response,  Mohammed Shami and Pandya made it look like GT were offered a different pitch to bowl on with the amount of swing they were able to generate. Rohit Sharma fell cheaply, and MI just couldn’t break loose in the powerplay. Then came Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad, as the two Afghan spinners caused the opposition so many problems in the middle-overs and restricted MI to just 152.
