UCL Final 2022-23: Manchester City and Inter Milan square off for European glory

The Champions League Final between Manchester City and Inter Milan will occur this weekend. While the Italians have already won it three times, the English champions will be going for their maiden championship. With the Premier League and FA Cup already under their belts, Pep Guardiola’s City is widely regarded as the best team in the world and is close to completing an unprecedented treble. But with their lineup of players, Inter will want to upset the apple cart. Here is a detailed preview of the next game.

Predicted Starting Line-ups for the UCL Final

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Rúben Dias, Aké; Stones, Rodri; Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Gündoğan, Grealish; Haaland

Inter: Onana; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro Martínez, Džeko

Team News for both teams

Ahead of the big final, Manchester City’s medical staff is primarily inactive. Kyle Walker is now healthy despite having a slight back issue. Except for the custodian position, it is anticipated that the starting lineup will not change. Mkhitaryan and Correa of Inter are probably going to get better. Martinez and Dzeko are preferred by Inzaghi up front, while Dimarco will take on Walker. Skriniar and de Vrij could sit out the first game.

Here’s what the two coaches said ahead of the UCL final

Guardiola, Man City coach: “When you reach the final of the Champions League, you have to celebrate. A final against an Italian team is not always the best gift, honestly. Inter are competitive. After this [semi-final] victory there will be a lot of compliments, but we have time to prepare mentally.”

Inzaghi, Inter coach: “For us, it was a dream but we have always believed in it. I’m proud to be here. Nobody has given us anything, we deserve everything that we have achieved. And now the dream to play the final has come true. It has been an extraordinary path and winning a derby in the semi-final brought particular satisfaction.”
