With the amazing performances from batter Kyle Mayers and pacer Mark Wood, Lucknow managed to start well in the tournament.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Delhi skipper David Warner opted to bowl first. After being asked to bat first, Lucknow didn’t start well as their skipper KL Rahul departed after scoring 8 runs off 12 balls. After his departure, West Indies super start Kyle Mayers hammered Delhi bowlers all around the park. Along with Deepak Hooda, he added 79 runs for the second wicket in just 42 balls. Mayers, in his innings, scored 73 runs off 38 balls with the help of seven 6s and two boundaries.

David Warner failed to control the run chase

While Chasing 194, Delhi started very well as opener Prithvi Shaw and David Warner added 41 runs in just four overs. However, in his very first over, Mark Wood dismissed Shaw and Mitchell Marsh on consecutive balls to derail the run chase. In his next over, Wood clinched another wicket as he dismissed wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Khan for just 4 runs off 9 balls.

Latter, Warner, along with Rilee Rossouw, tried to make the game for Delhi but they failed as the required run rate was out of their control.
