‘Uski gaadi 1 Crore ki thi, khud ka bill chuka sakta hai wo’- Twitter calls Indian Cricket Board airlifting Rishabh Pant to Mumbai a ‘PR Stunt’

Rishabh Pant was involved in an unfortunate car accident on December 30th when he was travelling to his mother’s place. The Team India batter was saved by a Himachal Roadways bus driver and conductor who pulled the player out of the burning car and got him to safety.

Since then he has been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and his condition is reported to be stable. Earlier he was being treated in Max Hospital, Dehradun from where the Indian Cricket Board arranged an air ambulance for the young wicketkeeper batter to be airlifted.

A senior sports journalist K Shriniwas Rao tweeted the news saying, “Well done Indian Cricket Board, Board secretary Jay Shah has just approved an air ambulance for Rishabh Pant to be flown from the Max Hospital facility in Dehradun to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Good gesture @ Jay Shah.”

The news however hasn’t gone well with many fans as they claim it to be a PR stunt of sorts. One user by the name Rakesh replied, “Why are you going gaga & dancing on the roof top? They are doing for their player who wasn’t injured on a cricketing field or performing any exercise/ drill prescribed by NCA. Still, it’s not cleared as to what cause the accident different version. Let all come out first.”

Another by the name of Rahul K wrote, “What’s good in it? Paying bills for someone who is rich enough to pay bills for all the patients admitted in the hospital… Bravo well done.”
